AAWSM is partnering with the Advocates for Inclusion in Medicine & Science (AIMS) at UNC Chapel Hill and the American Physician Scientist Association (APSA) to host our 2020 annual meeting virtually from October 23-24, 2020!

The theme of last year’s virtual symposium was focused on advocacy: advocacy for patients, advocacy for peers, and advocacy for ourselves. The symposium featured keynote speakers, including Dr. Lisa Carey and Dr. Kizzmekia Corbett, as well as panels and workshops that work towards students’ professional development. Proceeds from last year’s symposium went to White Coats Black Doctors Foundation, a non-profit organization that aims to increase diversity in the medical field by supporting the development of future Black physicians. For this conference and all future conferences, we always welcome undergraduates, medical students, graduate students, dual-degree students, and residents to join us!
